POLISHED CONCRETE FLOORS
Sleek, shiny, and easy to maintain, polished concrete is a great flooring choice, particularly for your man cave, kitchen, garage or basement. . Polished concrete floors wear well and require minimal maintenance. To polish concrete the DIY way, you’re going to need a concrete grinder and assortment of grinding discs grits and polishing pads depending of the finished look.
Our concrete grinders include a skirt to help keep dust down and a set of disk. A HEPA vacuum is also available, which is designed to vacuum up dust while you grind and will eliminate almost all dust from the grinding process. Our grinder has angle grinding to get close to existing walls without causing damage.
Polishing concrete is like sanding wood. Depending on the finish look you are going for you start with a 20/30 grit to remove all ridges and surface material, then work your way up with a 60, than 120 and higher. The higher the grit the more polished the look
Put a thin coat of concrete sealer over the floor. The result will be a stone-like surface that gleams without the aid of floor waxes or oils.
